Freedom was close and her fellow spirits had been drawn to her to obey her commands. She had stretched and pulled herself to free herself from her captor. She had dragged herself across earth and water, pushed through the air. Now she had reached fire. She felt the heat and the cold, the wetness and the dryness of each of the elements through her insubstantial form and she felt the power of evil returning to her across the darkness of space.

Yes! This was her moment to break free; to regain her position of supremacy; to be enabled to destroy and spread her hate. The spirits aided her by transforming as in times past into the manifestations of the Malevolence. They would be hers to direct as she pronounced her vengeance on all life. There would be more to do her bidding, Pwca, Cyrhyraeth, Gwyllian, Llamhigwyn y dwr, Draig tân. Nothing would stop her. Not this time.

But yet, she was still joined to her twin. A slender thread it was true, but still there was that link to the memories of love and happiness, of play and pleasure. She strained to break free but still September held on to her.

A fire seeped into her, a different fire to the raw element that surrounded her. This was something flowing from her twin, a powerful energy. She felt a tug. The force was pulling her back to her captivity. She screamed and struggled but the force was too great. The darkness withdrew from her. She called to her spirits, the manifestations that circled looking for her, but her voice was weak. Her appeals went unheard and then they were receding from her.

Then she felt a greater wrench. Not only was her freedom being denied to her but she was being drawn out of the present into another time. She struggled more but to no avail. Her twin had power over her.
